Pre-emptive opening bids of 3C/3D/3H/3S (showing 7 cards suit & less than 8 pts) & its Responses

  1. Pre-emptive opening bids of 3C/3D/3H/3S & various rebids on relay by next higher suit by partner :-
    1. Pre-emptive opening bids of 3C/3D/3H/3S:- When you have got less than 8 pts and 7 cards suit, you give pre-emptive bid of 3C/3D/3H/3S. All pts. should be in bid suit and generally should not contain outside A or K. At favourable vul., it is 4 tricks short, at equal vul., it is 3 tricks short and at adverse vul., it is 2 tricks short.

    2. Rebids by opener on relay by next higher suit(asking for singleton) by responder:- Relay by next higher suit i.e. 3D/3H/3S/3NT by responder is asking opener to show the singleton. In case opener has got any singleton, he shows the same by bidding singleton suit. (in case of void, he jumps in suit) otherwise he repeats his original suit.

  2. Responses by partner:-
After opener has bid 3 level pre-emptive bids i.e 3C/3D/3H/3S showing 7 cards suit & less than 8 pts., Responder should not count his points but no. of tricks he can contribute i.e. Aces & combined with Kings & accordingly he bids final contract. He may ask opener's singleton(void), if required, by relay of next higher suit and / or uses special RKCB ( of two key-cards & trump Q) by bidding 4C. All other normal bids are natural & sign off.
